Listen. This last month has reminded me of a very important fact that I keep forgetting:
I’m a writer.
I’m not a YouTuber, Twitch streamer, or TikTok star. I’m a writer.
My recent attempt to “branch out” through YouTube and other videos has pulled me away from the core of who I am, but I needed to experience it before it could sink in.
So, we’re going to stop.
Instead of stressing about recording/editing videos every week, I’m going to strengthen my writing and actually work on the projects I’ve set aside.
That means better articles, more creative works (aside from poetry), and a potential for an in-house podcast where I can give you updates and talk about my writing journey.
And that’s just on the website!
Offline, I’ll be working on three major projects:
- By the Bones Audio Book (Hopeful release October 2026)
- Poetry book #5 (which will be Dark Academia themed)
- My Poetry Forms guide
And that’s on top of writing/editing for the Coffee House Writers (who’s looking for new writers of all types, so apply today!), working with my local arts council, and running the Present Poetry Podcast (which will return Sept. 7th.)
I don’t need anything else.
Overall, writing is my life, and I need to focus on it instead of trying to be “famous” online. Social media is a means to an end, and this website is now my main focus.
Because, at the end of the day, I just want to write stories and entertain/educate people. Maybe sell a book or two. Be known for my writing, not my online presence.
And that can only come from writing!
