Fleeting glimpses of light
In the woods and fields.
Run and catch them before they fade!
Excited screams fill the air as they
Fly around, refusing to be caught.
Little sparks of life
Inspire nostalgia in the adults who
Experience happiness again.

Erynn Crittenden has written poetry since she could hold a pen. This love prompted her to earn a BA in Creative Writing, where she learned how to experiment with syllables and styles. Since then, Erynn has self-published four poetry collections (“By the Bones,” “Transfiguration,” “Into the Western Sky,” and “Structured Chaos”), and also works as a contributor and editor for the Coffee House Writers Magazine. Her work has appeared in the Talon Literary Magazine, the “Beautiful Poetry” anthology by Silent Sparks Press, the “#AmWriting” anthology by the Wayne Foundation, and “Life Blood: A Collection of Vampire Tales” by Gary Hill. She also runs “Present Poetry,” a weekly podcast that celebrates different poets and gives them a space to share their work without fear or judgment.
