Sleepy clouds before my eyes
Lazily drifting through the skies
Becoming a veil that amplifies
Our chronic need to fantasize.
What lies beyond the rise?
Let’s stop now and analyze
The many things that we surmise
Could live within the fog’s disguise.
Or, instead, we could devise
A world beyond the gray sunrise
Where people learn to empathize,
Walk in love, and harmonize.
Thus, the fog can mesmerize
And remind us to be wise
So we can step up and revise
The world in which we agonize.
