“You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink”
I such a silly saying, but it does make you think
About other things in life that shrivel and die
If not watered properly and left out to dry.
Like your brain, for example- that intelligent mass
Which grows weak and addled when treated second-class.
So turn on the tap!
Your brain is the horse, and knowledge is the water
But if it won’t drink, then why even bother?
For, like a horse, you must train its need
To drink from the knowledge without hurry or greed
Because, if untrained, you could do yourself harm
With a lazy, weak brain full of nonsense and charm.
It’ll struggle through life when the work gets too hard
No caring who it must deceive or discard.
So turn on the tap!
Train your brain right- there’s knowledge galore
Until watering it is no longer a chore
Teach it to think, solve problems, create
Observe and listen, form opinions, debate
Then, teach it to rest at the end of the day
For even a horse needs some free time to play.
