She holds the secrets of the world Within her tiny hands And each small finger deftly curls Around my well-laid plans The universe is in her eyes Which sparkle like the sea But every moment deftly flies For time cares not for me There is magic on her lips Which babble evermore Someday, I must come to grips That soon, she'll grow and soar When that day comes, I'll wave goodbye With a smile and a tear Reminding her how to apply The things I've taught her here But until then, I'll hold her tight And raise her as I should This tiny human in my sight Who owns my heart for good
