The Best Laid Plans…

This is an excerpt from the poem “To a Mouse” by Robert Burns, and it’s the origin of one of the most famous idioms in the English language:

The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry.

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately- especially since it’s taking longer to get my second podcast off the ground than I would’ve liked.

So, I’m done trying to give it deadlines. From here on out, I will work on it as much as I need to in order to give you a quality experience. I won’t worry about deadlines until after I get the first episode out because, by then, I should have the technical stuff figured out.

And I’m almost there.

I have my script mostly written, save for a few examples. I have my recording software downloaded and updated, and I have my camera and microphone on standby.

The delay is because I’m still fairly new to video editing, and I’m trying to learn how to do specific things that I believe will make the podcast really pop.

Once I figure it out, I’ll be unstoppable!

In the meantime,

There’s still plenty to enjoy! I’m still posting on here twice a week, I’m still writing and editing for the Coffee House Writers, and I’m still putting out weekly episodes of the Present Poetry Podcast.

I’m also working outside the home as part of my local Arts Council, which is a great opportunity to work with local artists and writers in my community.

So, don’t give up on podcast #2.

It will happen. And it will be amazing!

Keep an eye on my socials for updates, specifically Facebook, and thank you for your continued support!
