2026: The Year I Do What I Want

Happy New Year!

Like millions of other people in the world, I like to use this transition period to sort my priorities and make a plan for the coming year.

This year, however, I only have one:

It sounds simple enough, but when you’re raised with a “must be productive at all times” mentality, the idea of simply existing can be terrifying.

But it’s also necessary to allow yourself to exist as you are, with no expectations or judgement, in order to find a balance between the outside world and the innner one.

And my inner self has been neglected for far too long.

For me, existing is more than rest. Its exploring old passions and finding new hobbies without fear of failure or the stress of perfection.

It’s reminding myself that when I do fail (and I will eventually), it’s not the end of the world, nor is it a reflection of myself as a person.

It’s letting myself do what I love without the expectation of financial gain.

It’s being in control of my finances and knowing when to walk away.

It’s reading more, writing more, and gaining confidence in my skills.

It’s establishing credibility with myself.

It’s taking care of my physical and mental health.

And, above all, it’s forgiving myself for the previous years and knowing that I’m doing the best with what I have.

Now that we’ve talked about my goal, I want to give you a peek at what that means for the next year.

I will continue posting twice a week on here, with articles on Monday and something creative on Wednesdays.

The Present Poetry Podcast will continue, with episodes every Wednesday and live interviews whenever I can schedule them.

I’m working on a second podcast where I deep dive into some of my favorite topics (crime, conspiracies, history, writing, paranormal, communication, and more) which will be coming March 2026, so stay tuned for that!

I am working on my first fiction novel and plan to have it finished by the summer, and hopefully published by the winter. I’ll update you on that as I hit milestones.

That’s it! It’ll be a busy year, even with my simple goal, and I can’t wait to see what becomes of it.

I couldn’t do any of this without your support, so I wanted to say THANK YOU for a wonderful 2025, and I hope you have a brilliant 2026!

See you soon!
