Thankfulness begins small, like 
How the smell of casseroles,
Apple pie, and turkey feels
Nostalgic for a time when
Kitchens were full of love,
Seating was never assigned,
Games were competitive, and the
Immutable seats of those lost are
Vacant no longer, bringing the family back together
In time and memory, so those left behind
