I long to be feral again.
To explore the wilderness
And forget about the next status update
Or the stress of making money-
They'll never make me happy.
Instead, I should
Walk barefoot through the moss
And remember what it feels like
To be at peace with nature
I should bathe in the river
And let the cold water
Wash the stains of modernization
From my skin
I should pick flowers,
And create bright bouquets
To line the pathways
Of my soul
I should listen to the birds
As they gossip and chatter
And fill the silence
Of my mind
I should lean against the trees,
And let their strength support me
Through all the different stages
Of my growth
But most of all,
I should remember
My place in this world-
Not to live behind a screen
But to be one with nature
As I was meant to be.
