I called to you today.
Turned my face to the moon
And begged the stars
To send me a sign
That you still knew me
But the ocean roared in my veins
Telling me to take solace
Not from the sky
But from the sand
For stars are silent watchers
But the sand is always shifting
Burying the past
Beneath white dunes
And urging me to flow
Between wind and wave
Until I find myself settled
In all the cracks of me
